Pendant Lamp

What inspires me is an admiration for eastern and Japanese culture.

The Juuyo Lamp is an interpretation of the wigs that Geisha wear.

The Juuyo was the Geisha's predecessor in the 17th. I have been fascinated by their subtlety, strength and grace.

They were glamorous well respected entertainers, offering more than sex entertained their clients by dancing, singing, playing music and make pleasent conversation, somewhere renowned poets or calligraphers and carved out a separate niche as artists and erudite female companions, they were not submissive and subservient, but in fact they were some of the most financially and emotionally successful and strongest women in Japan.

The graphics are typical subjects of Japanese iconography.
